General Notes: FAMILY INFORMATION
(Given to me by my father Boleslaus Paul Janice)

Boleslaus Paul Janiec (BPJ) was born in Brooklyn NY on June 25, 1908, and delivered by a mid-wife in a house on 22nd Street and 5th Avenue, second floor. He was baptized in the Polish Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Czestochowa on 24th Street, Brooklyn on July 5, 1908. His godmother was Mary Huchla and godfather was Francis Litek. The mid-wife who delivered BPJ was thought to be an aunt of Josephine Mutkoski, BPJ's then unknown future wife.

Boleslaw didn't like his name so after taking the name Paul at Confirmation, BPJ was called Paul from thereon; his mother calling him in Polish "Pawel". (There are no papers showing a legal name change in the family name of Janiec to Janice by any of the Janiec brothers.)

On October 3, 1936, my father BPJ married Josephine Ann (Gasiewska) Mutkoski (JMJ) in Our Lady of Czenstochowa RC Church. Three years later on December 18, 1939, Joan Dorothy Janiec (JJ) their only child was born in Shore Road Hospital, 91st Street and Shore Road, Brooklyn NY. My baby ID bracelet spells my name as "Janiec" but by the time I went to Holy Family Elementary School on 14th Street in Brooklyn NY, my name was being spelled "Janice".
